Sir Redmond Barry (1813-1880)

Sir Redmond Barry was a prominent judge, philanthropist, and cultural leader in Port Phillip. He played a significant role in the establishment of the University of Melbourne and the State Library of Victoria. Barry is best known for sentencing the infamous bushranger Ned Kelly to death. He is remembered as a key figure in the development of legal and cultural institutions in the region.

Dame Nellie Melba (1861-1931)

Dame Nellie Melba, born Helen Porter Mitchell, was an internationally renowned opera soprano from Port Phillip. She achieved great success on the world stage and performed in leading opera houses across Europe and the United States. Melba became one of the most famous singers of her era and was known for her interpretations of roles in the works of Mozart and Verdi.

John Monash (1865-1931)

Sir John Monash was a distinguished engineer, military leader, and public administrator from Port Phillip. During World War I, he commanded the Australian forces on the Western Front, earning a reputation as an exceptional strategist. Monash later played a crucial role in the development of infrastructure in Victoria, including the construction of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria.

Florence Violet McKenzie (1890-1982)

Florence Violet McKenzie, known as "Mrs. Mac," was a pioneering electrical engineer and inventor from Port Phillip. She was the first woman in Australia to gain an electrical engineering diploma and went on to establish the Electrical Association for Women. McKenzie actively promoted women's involvement in technical fields and made significant contributions to the development of wireless communication technology.

Gerard Whateley is a respected sports broadcaster and journalist from Port Phillip. Brooke Hanson

Brooke Hanson is an accomplished swimmer and Olympic medalist from Port Phillip.
